RPS taps new VP of sales enablement

Specialty insurance distributor Risk Placement Services (RPS) has announced the appointment of James Brown (pictured above) as vice president of sales enablement.

In his new role, Brown will execute sales and talent development strategies to drive the company’s production and growth goals. He will be based in Chicago and report to Kevin Doyle, vice president for RPS’s Western Region and Chicago.

Prior to joining RPS, Brown was an owner at Scottish American. In that role, he was responsible for acquisition, organic growth and strategy.

Brown holds a bachelor’s of applied science in business administration and management from the University of North Texas. Prior to attending college, he spent 16 years as a professional rugby player, playing for London Irish, England and the Barbarians. After his playing career, Brown served as a coach for the London Scottish Football Club, a rugby union club in London.

Brown is the latest addition to the RPS team. In October, the company brought on Russell Duffey as president of RPS Signature Programs, its program administration division.
