Clearsurance, a startup that manages an independent crowdsourced insurance ratings and review platform, has announced that a software developer veteran has joined its board of directors.

Andy Singleton joins the board as an independent director. In this role, he will provide “strategic technical counsel and direction,” a release said.

Singleton has been credited with the launch of more than 20 software, SaaS and online services. He was the original architect at SNL Securities, which would later be acquired to form S&P Global Market Intelligence – a leading financial analytics provider.

He recently launched the company Aboveboard in 2017 to offer programmable blockchain securities for the private offering market; Singleton is currently the company’s CEO and founder.

“Andy’s relevant experience in the tech space is extremely valuable to the Clearsurance team as we expand our platform in the coming months to include agent and agency reviews and ratings, and as we continue to build out additional capabilities that enhance the customer experience,” said Clearsurance CEO and co-founder Michael Crowe.

“In addition to founding and leading many successful software companies, Andy is a gifted software engineer himself, making him an industry expert on every level. His experience is invaluable to our team as we look to the future – we’re fortunate to have him join our board,” Crowe added.
