AXA XL has bolstered its casualty, property, and professional liability insurance business in Canada with the addition of five seasoned underwriters.

Joining the casualty team in Toronto as senior underwriters are Gladys Adams, Joseph Renton, and Gary Tobin. They will report to head of casualty Liana Martire.

Charles Benson also comes aboard the professional liability team under head Chris Lawrence while John Hua joins the property group, reporting to head of property construction and energy Jennifer Arezes. Both new senior underwriters will also be based in Toronto.

“We continue to bring together underwriting experts with a true entrepreneurial spirit and a great understanding for the demands that existing and emerging risks bring to our clients and brokers,” said Renato Rodrigues, country manager and chief executive officer for Canada. “By expanding our underwriting resources with skilled and knowledgeable team members it is now even easier for us to work closely together with our clients and brokers in finding answers to their increasingly complex needs.”
