Billyard Insurance Group (BIG) has announced that it has promoted Jennifer Fraser as director of learning and development.

In her new role, Fraser will expand and improve the company’s training processes.

A member of BIG since July 2020, Fraser was most recently serving as manager of learning and development. She is credited as the creator of the company’s broker training platform, BIG University. The platform provides brokers with onboarding programs and video training for personal lines, commercial lines, and life and financial divisions.

According to a release, the online connectivity of Fraser’s BIG University enabled the brokerage to quickly grow and effectively meet the demands of remote work.

“In just one short year, Jennifer was able to take her unique experience in education and insurance to pioneer a state-of-the-art insurance training platform,” said BIG president Stephen Billyard. “This gave us the advantage and momentum to expand nationwide as quickly as we did.”

“When we first met with Jennifer, we were captivated by her confidence and ambition; she was determined to build the best insurance training platform in the country,” added BIG vice president Cody Douma. “She has absolutely exceeded our expectations and we are proud of what she has accomplished.”

A company release said that Fraser expects the learning and development department to scale quickly, and that she sees BIG University becoming a leading learning program for insurance professionals in Canada.

Last month, BIG appointed Dave Brooks to the role of director of marketing. As director of marketing, Brooks will lead the company strategy to enhance existing programs while also introducing new tools, technology, and brand initiatives that support the company and its clients.
