Insurance and wealth management firm iA Financial has appointed Pierre Miron as the new head of its IT sector, amid what it describes as its “major shift” toward digital.

Miron will begin his term on September 06, and will also sit on the company’s planning committee. In his new role, he will be responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s IT and global infrastructure strategies, according to Denis Ricard, incoming president and CEO of the firm.

“He will work closely with the business lines to implement the business model and the various initiatives aimed at positioning iA Financial Group in the digital era,” Ricard added.

Miron brings over 34 years’ experience in the IT and finance sectors. He has worked at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec since 2010, where he held the positions of executive vice-president and chief operations and IT officer, and was a member of the Caisse’s management committee.

The incoming IT chief has a degree in business informatics from the Université du Québec à Montréal, and has worked with finance and consulting companies.
