Drayden Insurance (Drayden), a division of McDougall Insurance, has acquired Darson Insurance Services (Darson) in Stony Plain, Alberta.

The strategic move aims to enhance Drayden's service offerings and expand its presence in the Alberta market, McDougall said in a press release shared with Insurance Business.

Drayden assured stakeholders that the integration process will be approached with meticulous attention to detail to ensure a smooth and positive experience for all parties involved in this strategic acquisition.

Commenting on the deal, Drayden Insurance president Catherine Cake emphasised the fit between both parties.

“Darson is a perfect fit for Drayden, as [its] emphasis on their clients and [its] community matches what Drayden has done throughout its history,” she said. “We can't wait to work with their clients and maintain the excellent standard they have set.”

McDougall Insurance CEO Ross McDougall welcomed the addition of Darson to the McDougall family.

“This acquisition supports us in our journey of growth and reinforces our dedication to providing top-notch services to our clients,” he said.

McDougall expansion

In November, McDougall Insurance expanded its presence in the Eastern Ontario region by merging with MB Kouri Insurance Brokers.

Last May, McDougall and majority owner Definity teased at national expansion for the brokerage when it snapped up Ontario-based McFarlan Rowlands.
