Canadian insurtech company InsuraGuest Technologies has expanded the reach of its digital platform, which can now be accessed by 82 different property management systems.

The expansion was made possible through InsuraGuest Technologies’ wholly-owned US subsidiary, InsuraGuest, Inc. The company’s proprietary API allows the platform to integrate seamlessly with various property management systems.

"Increasing our platform integration to 82 different property management systems gives us the ability to connect with over 90% of the systems in use today, systems which are used by Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, Wyndhan, and Airbnb," said InsuraGuest Technologies chairman and CEO Douglas Anderson.

A significant portion of a hospitality operator’s claims comes from small property or medical claims, which are usually applied to the general liability policy, but the frequency of these small claims can drive up premium prices. InsuraGuest offers hospitality operators a solution to this issue, by transferring some of the risk from the hotel and/or vacation rental operator to the guests, making the guests pay a nominal fee per night. InsuraGuest then pays out the small claims, taking the load off from hospitality operators’ general liability policies.

Last September, InsuraGuest formed a partnership with Hub International Limited to bring the insurtech’s solutions to hospitality businesses in both Canada and in the US. At that time, InsuraGuest’s platform could only connect to 70 property management systems.
