Westland Insurance maintains its reputation as one of Canada’s fastest-growing independent insurance brokers with its acquisition of the brokerages Palmer Salmon Insurance and Vachon Insurance Group.

The acquisition of Palmer Salmon Insurance in Calgary, AB represents Westland’s “rapidly growing presence in the Alberta market,” a release said. Meanwhile, Vachon Insurance Group in Etobicoke, ON is Westland’s first location in the city, while growing its presence in the Ontario market.

“Our mission at Westland is to be the broker of choice in every community we serve,” said Westland Insurance EVP of distribution Tim Mackle. “Both Palmer Salmon Insurance and Vachon Insurance share our commitment to exceptional client experiences. We’re thrilled to have them join us and for the opportunity to make a difference in their local communities.”

Last month, Westland Insurance went for a triple sweep by acquiring the brokerages Arrow Insurance Agency, Emsland & Associates Insurance, and IBMG Canada. Arrow Insurance Agency is Westland’s first location in the BC city of Fort St. John. The acquisition of Emsland & Associates adds another Kamloops, BC location for Westland. Meanwhile, IBMG Canada in Toronto gives Westland another key location in the Greater Toronto Area.

The acquisitions also come after Westland Insurance named Jamie Lyons as its new CEO. Lyons succeeds the previous chief executive, Jason Wubs, who will transition into a vice chair role.
