In celebration of GivingTuesday this year, Gore Mutual has announced that it is welcoming Canadians to nominate the charity organization of their choice to receive donations from the insurer.

This is Gore Mutual’s third straight year participating in GivingTuesday; for this year’s event, on December 03, the insurer is planning to give away a total of $50,000.

It has invited its national network of insurance broker partners, customers and all Canadians to select which charities will receive the donations. Nominations are open until November 26. Once nominations close, Gore Mutual’s employees will vote to determine which 10 organizations should win. Each of the 10 winners will be presented with $5,000 for GivingTuesday.

“This year marks Gore Mutual’s 180th year in business and throughout our history our company has operated on the core principal of helping people,” said Gore Mutual president and CEO Heidi Sevcik. “We have been amazed by the reactions to our past GivingTuesday campaigns, which is why we wanted to do even more this year. With our 2019 campaign we hope to give Canadians a platform to tell everyone about the different charities they support and the vital work these organizations do.”

Sevcik added that it has been “inspiring” for the past two years to hear from individuals on social media talk about the positive impact these charities have made in their communities.

“The strong community aspect of GivingTuesday is one of the reasons why we are so excited to be a part of this initiative again,” said Gore Mutual chair of the board Farouk Ahamed. “We welcome all Canadians to nominate their favourite charities to receive support from the Gore Mutual Foundation.”

Those interested in nominating a charity should use the #GivingTuesdayCA #GoreMutual tags on social media.
