Specialist loss adjuster QuestGates has completed its acquisition of Amedeo Adjusting (Amedeo) without the need for external funding.

Founded in 2003, Amedeo provides property and liability loss adjusting services and operates in Glasgow, London, Manchester, and Birmingham.

The deal, QuestGates’ first acquisition of the year, will enable Amedeo to use its long-standing reputation for providing catastrophe services in the Bahamas and Jamaica to enhance QuestGates’ global capabilities as part of the vrs Adjusters organisation. Furthermore, founder Andrew Richmond and all Amedeo staff will join QuestGates.

Richmond commented that joining QuestGates was the right choice for Amedeo because they share values and their approach to doing business – an “incredibly important factor in our decision.”

“We’re delighted to become part of the QuestGates team,” Richmond said. “[QuestGates has] built an outstanding reputation in the industry, and that was equally important to us as we have worked extremely hard over the years to always do the right thing for our clients. We’re all relishing the opportunities that lie ahead in joining the QuestGates family.”

Colin Ganson, director for first-party services at QuestGates, said the Amedeo team’s expertise would add to the specialist loss adjuster’s property teams in the country’s key regions and help meet the increasing volume of cases it has been managing due to significant contract wins over recent months.

“The founding principles upon which Andrew and his team have built their business almost mirror our own – providing traditional loss adjusting services combined with technical expertise to deliver the highest possible level of customer service,” Ganson added.

The Amedeo swoop follows QuestGates’ acquisition of Focus Claim & Risk Management (Focus) in November 2021, complementing the existing expertise of the specialist loss adjuster’s subsidiary Hyperion Adjusters.
