Zurich has followed in the footsteps of other travel insurance providers in the UK, announcing it has made the similar move of suspending the sale of new policies amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“Due to the current impact coronavirus (COVID-19) is having globally and with the FCO’s (Foreign and Commonwealth Office) latest guidelines extending advice against all but essential international travel for British nationals,” stated Zurich UK on its website, “we have taken the decision to pause the sale of travel insurance to new customers.

“We believe that pausing new sales at this time will allow us to fully focus on servicing our existing customers.”

Firms that are also currently not offering travel insurance to new customers include LV=, Direct Line, Churchill, Admiral, and Aviva.
