Major insurer Acrisure has announced the appointment of Gary Taffet to its National Employee Benefits Strategy Committee.

The committee sets the strategic direction for the company’s employee benefits program, which serves public sector entities, as well as professional, labor and private employers.

Taffet is the chief executive of Reliance Insurance, an Acrisure agency partner which he founded that provides full service brokerage to New Jersey’s public entities.

According to a company statement, Taffet will be part of the seven member committee, which exerts influence over the company’s strategy for its employee benefits division to evolve with current and future market changes.

“Acrisure’s employee benefits division is experiencing rapid growth. One of the main contributors to that growth is our collaborative (and) entrepreneurial approach to strategic development,” Sozon Vatikiotis, Acrisure president of employee benefits, said in the statement.

“Employers can’t underestimate the importance of benefits to their employees, but at the same time, costs remain a critical component of their efforts,” Taffet noted. “Striking the right balance helps them retain top talent while keeping the business viable, which is especially important.”
