Independent specialist reinsurance broker BMS Re US has announced two new appointments intended to incorporate actuarial and technological expertise into its business.

Chang Liu has joined the company as director of catastrophe analytics technical development. Most recently, he served as director of catastrophe risk modeling and research at XL Catlin. He’s also held senior roles at ACE, Tokio Marine Technologies and RMS.

Bradley Parent has been named assistant vice president/actuary. Parent previously worked for the Christopher Gross Consulting Group, and brings with him a strong actuarial background.
