Erie Insurance has named Bob Vetter as vice-president and branch manager of the company’s Indiana branch, effective January 02, 2020.

Vetter originally joined Erie in 1993 as a commercial underwriter. He later became a district sales manager in Indiana. Since 2010, he has served as a state commercial insurance manager – in that role, he helped grow commercial premium in the state of Indiana, a release said.

A graduate of Kent State University, Vetter also has several insurance designations, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Certified Insurance Counselor and Life Underwriting Training Council of Fellows certification.

“Bob is an experienced insurance professional with a proven track record of profitable growth,” explained Erie Insurance regional sales officer Rick Gordon. “Because of his deep familiarity with the Indiana market and our ERIE agents in the area, he is the right candidate for the job.”

Last year, Erie Insurance was recognized by financial analytics firm ValuePenguin as the insurance company with the cheapest car insurance average annual rates. Erie Insurance has more than five million policies in force and currently operates in 12 states and the District of Columbia.
