Insurance Business America has revealed its 12th annual Top Retail Brokers list, naming 24 leading retail insurance professionals across the US for 2026. Each honoree concentrated on a defined line of business – such as construction, real estate, healthcare, energy, hospitality, or professional liability – and framed that focus as the group’s common thread as a 33-quarter run of commercial premium increases has ended.
The publication cited MarshBerry data indicating specialist brokers grow faster than generalists. Lee Newmark, healthcare practice director at Gallagher, said in the report: “Clients want a broker who wakes up every day with their focus on their industry.”
On artificial intelligence, the report cited Gallagher’s survey showing 63% of businesses had operationalized AI by February 2026, up from 45% in 2025.
Nominees needed at least $1 million in 2025 commission revenue, with a minimum of 50% from commercial property and casualty business, and year-over-year growth, the report said. Those above $4 million received the Platinum Retail Broker designation. Reported revenue ranged from $950,000 to $44,946,825, and Florida accounted for five winners.
Shantelle Cabir of Newfront, who reported $3.1 million in 2025 commission revenue, said in the report: “Client retention remains the top priority. I maintain high retention rates by prioritizing existing client needs over new business development.”
