Leadership moves across brokerage, insurtech, specialty operations, data strategy and insurance asset management continue to reshape the senior talent landscape in the insurance sector.

Lockton names Sears to lead Alternative Risk Solutions

Lockton has appointed Ashleigh Sears (pictured, left) as Alternative Risk Solutions practice leader, tasking her with setting strategy for the broker’s specialist unit and overseeing a team of finance, accounting and credit professionals focused on risk financing.

In her new role, Sears will lead the design and implementation of programs that align clients’ risk financing and insurance needs, spanning captive consulting, parametric insurance, structured risk solutions, fronting arrangements and alternative collateral strategies. She will be based in Boston and report to Devin Beresheim, US risk solutions leader.

Sears brings 17 years of casualty and alternative risk experience across underwriting and carrier leadership. She joins from Everest, where she was head of alternative risk and national accounts excess casualty, and previously served as head of casualty at USQ Risk, overseeing structured and alternative risk transfer solutions. She also held several leadership roles at The Hartford.

Hippo CSO Ellis to join board, shift to advisory role

Hippo has appointed its executive vice president and chief strategy officer, and former chief financial officer, Stewart Ellis (pictured, center), to its board of directors, effective June 3, 2026. In connection with the move, Ellis will resign from his current executive role and become a consultant to the company from May 1, 2026.

Before joining Hippo as CFO in 2019, Ellis was CFO at Earnin (formerly Activehours), following CFO and senior finance roles at BloomReach and 23andMe. 

Trucordia adds Rathsam to M&A leadership team

Trucordia has appointed Shelley Rathsam (pictured, right) as vice president on its mergers and acquisitions team.

Rathsam joins from Arthur J. Gallagher, where she spent nearly five years leading M&A sourcing and deal execution across the US, Western Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Her 25-year career spans sales and leadership roles in healthcare, executive search and insurance, including close to a decade with Blue Cross Blue Shield Global in insurance sales and leadership roles serving multinational clients.

IMG taps Sion as chief operations officer

International Medical Group (IMG) has named James Sion as chief operations officer, adding more than 25 years of insurance and financial services leadership to its executive team.

Sion will be responsible for shaping IMG’s operating model, with a focus on enhancing the end-to-end customer journey and advancing operational excellence across the business.

Sion has held senior roles at Generali Global Assistance, Allianz Group companies and AIG, and most recently served as COO at The Morgan Law Group. He has led teams through periods of growth and transformation, with an emphasis on customer outcomes.

ReSource Pro appoints Fu as SVP, data strategy

ReSource Pro has named Su‑Ting Fu (pictured immediately above) as senior vice president, data strategy. He will lead the development and execution of the firm’s enterprise-wide data strategy, including governance, analytics and AI-enabled capabilities.

Fu joins from Morgan Stanley, where he was an executive director in firm risk management, leading credit risk for wealth management securities-based lending and derivatives, and overseeing more than $100 billion in exposure. He also led risk integration for Morgan Stanley’s acquisition of E*TRADE and has held roles across investment banking, trading, treasury and risk at other firms, including BlueMountain Capital Management.

PGIM names Towers head of insurance and strategic partnerships

PGIM, the global asset management business of Prudential Financial, has appointed Brian Towers (pictured immediately above) as head of insurance and strategic partnerships.

Towers will will be responsible for building a dedicated team to deliver integrated investment solutions and capital-efficient structures for insurers, reinsurers and institutional investors. He was previously a managing director at Blackstone, where he helped build and scale its multi-asset credit platform. He has also held senior roles at AIG, BlackRock and Invesco, bringing nearly 20 years of experience in investment product and distribution, with a particular focus on insurance clients.
