Two specialty insurance firms and a brokerage giant have announced senior leadership appointments aimed at expanding their expertise.
Pro-Praxis, a program within Starwind Specialty Insurance Services, has appointed Carolyn Toomey as program president of Pro-Praxis Senior Living Underwriters.
Toomey (pictured above, left) has more than 20 years of experience in healthcare underwriting and leadership. In her new role, she will oversee the development and management of specialized healthcare programs and work with producers to provide solutions tailored to market needs.
Her background includes launching new products, advancing underwriting strategies and implementing predictive analytics to strengthen workflows and business performance across different segments.
Brian Norman, co-president of Starwind Specialty Programs, said Toomey's expertise in healthcare operations, underwriting strategy and reinsurance relationships would add value to the Pro-Praxis team.
Based in Chicago, Toomey will support the company's focus on expanding its capabilities in healthcare and senior living insurance solutions.
Brown & Riding has announced that Taylor Wilkinson has joined its national property practice. Wilkinson (pictured above, right), who will be based in the Atlanta office, specializes in complex property business, including layered property deals, stock throughput and builder's risk.
With 12 years of industry experience, Wilkinson spent the past five years working for a Lloyd’s of London broker and also has experience on the retail side of the business.
Mike Boseman, chief operating officer at Brown & Riding, said Wilkinson’s knowledge of complex property risks, along with his client and market relationships in both the U.S. and London, would strengthen the firm’s property team.
Wilkinson said he looks forward to contributing to Brown & Riding’s client-focused environment and plans to use his industry experience to help clients manage complex property risks.
Willis, a WTW business, has announced a series of leadership changes within its global construction and global surety teams.
Bill Creedon, who has led WTW’s global construction business for more than five years, will transition to the role of chairman. In this capacity, he will remain engaged with the global construction community, with a particular focus on client engagement, recruitment, and talent development.
Scott Hull, currently global head of surety, will take on an expanded remit as global head of construction and surety. Hull rejoined WTW in 2014 to lead the Surety practice, having previously held senior positions at Marsh as well as earlier leadership roles within WTW’s construction business.
And Goly Jafari has been appointed global deputy of construction and surety. Since joining WTW in 2016, Jafari has held several senior posts, including head of global surety strategy and operations and, most recently, head of strategy and execution for North America industry divisions.
