Satellite Agency Network (SAN) Group, an alliance of independent insurance agencies in the Northeast, has announced that Westbrook, Maine-based AK Insurance has joined the network.
AK Insurance was founded in April by owner Alex Kapothanasis. It provides a full line of property and casualty products including home and auto, recreational vehicle, and commercial. The agency plans to add life and health offerings in the near future.
Prior to founding the agency, Kapothanasis was a producer for both exclusive and independent agencies.
“After evaluating my options in building an agency with a strong foundation of customer service, I decided to partner with SAN Group,” he said. “The network provides access to a wide range of top insurance companies, and the SAN field teams have a track record of supporting new agencies.”
“Alex is extremely smart, driven and accomplished,” said Frank Waters, chief operating officer of SAN Group. “His decision to operate as an independent agent will better position his agency to provide quality guidance and competitive rates to meet his clients’ insurance needs.”
SAN Group has more than 380 members across eight states. It is the founding master agency of SIAA, the largest national alliance of independent insurance agencies.
