Nautilus Insurance Group is celebrating 35 years in the excess and surplus lines insurance market.

Founded in 1985, Nautilus provides underwriting solutions to appointed general agents in all 50 states. These agents have binding authority to sell Nautilus insurance policies to E&S commercial risks through retail agents.

“We are a company of innovators,” said Tom Kuzma, president and CEO of Nautilus. “We don’t do business with everybody; we only do business with select agencies who share our commitment, drive and focus. They’re the ones who are selecting the business and following the guidelines we set up.”

Over the past 35 years, Nautilus has grown to a 260-employee institution. It has written more than $6.4 billion in direct premium since its inception.

In July, Nautilus was named an Insurance Business America 5-Star Carrier. The rankings were the result of votes from insurance brokers nationwide. Nautilus attained the 5-Star rating in six categories.

“We never stop evaluating our strategic vision, enhancing our technology to create new and easier ways of doing business, and investing in the success of our employees and partners,” Kuzma said. “Together, there is no limit to what our future will hold.”
