Property-casualty broker NFP has announced the acquisition of Benefits & Company, the Florida-based benefits business of Clearscope. The acquisition closed Aug. 8.

Benefits & Company is an employee benefits broker that serves employee groups and individuals across the state of Florida, NFP said in a news release. The firm provides medical, dental, long- and short-term disability, group life and more to employers. Benefits & Company’s Jessica Gabe has joined NFP, reporting to South Florida benefits business market leader Sarah Wollschelger.

“Acquiring Benefits & Company aligns with our goal of expanding our business across Florida through organic growth and targeted acquisitions while elevating the value we deliver to clients,” said Bill Austin, NFP’s managing director in South Florida. “We’re adding expertise, relationships and capabilities to our organization, and in Jessica Gabe, welcoming an experienced group benefits executive to our Florida team.”

“We’re excited to join NFP, a global, people-first organization with values that align with our own,” Gabe said. “We look forward to contributing to NFP’s success, tapping into its resources to drive growth, and introducing integrated solutions and expertise that align with the needs of our clients.”

Last month, NFP announced the acquisition of Utah-based Divergent Wealth Advisors. The company also recently launched Totalis Program Underwriters, a new brand for its specialty program business.
