Selective Insurance Company of America, a subsidiary of Selective Insurance Group, has announced several officer appointments.

Shelly Gallagher has been named vice president of personal lines operations. Gallagher joined Selective in 2002 as an associate financial analyst.

Valerie Sparks has been named vice president of underwriting in Selective’s Southeast Region. Sparks joined the company in 2007 as an underwriter in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

Gaurav Puri has been named assistant vice president of analytics strategy. Puri joined Selective in February. Prior to joining the company, he served as assistant vice president of business insurance product and platform at Travelers Insurance.

Mattia Scharfstein has been named assistant vice president of regulatory management services. She joined Selective in 2009 as a data quality analyst. Prior to that, she served as manager of quality assurance and user acceptance testing at AIG.

Tacia Thomas has been appointed assistant vice president of excess and surplus operations. She joined Selective as part of the company’s acquisition of MUSIC in 2011. Prior to that, she held accounting roles at Farmers Insurance Group.
