Inszone Insurance Services has acquired Streeter Brothers Insurance in a deal tied to owner Linda Schmaing’s retirement planning, keeping the 100-year-old Billings agency’s staff and operations unchanged.
Schmaing, who joined the agency in 1986 and acquired it in 2016, said continuity for employees and clients guided the transaction.
“After careful consideration, Inszone felt like the best fit for me, my team, and our clients,” said Schmaing. “Continuity was incredibly important to me - keeping our staff in place, staying in our location, and ensuring our clients continue to receive the service they expect. Inszone aligns with those priorities and supports a thoughtful transition as I begin planning for retirement.”
Her transition follows a pattern seen across recent Inszone transactions, where agency owners remain involved or maintain operational continuity after a sale.
In multiple deals announced between late 2025 and the first quarter of 2026, Inszone has retained local leadership and staff while integrating agencies into its platform.
In Colorado, Pikes Peak Insurance Agency founder Chris Wood remains involved in day-to-day operations following its sale. In Texas, the team at Scarbrough, Medlin & Associates continues serving clients with no change in personnel after the February 12, 2026 transaction. In Nebraska, Jaffery Insurance & Financial Services retains its existing client relationships and staff structure following its March 2026 acquisition. In Utah, founder Charley Cayias continues working with clients after selling his agency, shifting away from administrative responsibilities. Similarly, Ohio Valley Insurance in the Midwest has kept its leadership team in place after this month’s transaction, with principals continuing client-facing roles.
The transactions indicate a consistent approach focused on ownership transition while maintaining local operations.
Streeter Brothers Insurance was founded in 1922 by Delton and Delbert Streeter. The agency has operated through multiple generations of ownership while serving clients in Billings and surrounding areas.
The firm operates as a generalist agency, providing personal, commercial, and life insurance products to individuals and businesses. Under Schmaing’s leadership, the agency continues to serve a regional client base with a full-service model.
Following the acquisition, Streeter Brothers will continue operating from its existing Billings location, with its current staff remaining in place.
The agency will gain access to Inszone’s carrier relationships, technology platforms, and operational resources. The structure mirrors other recent Inszone transactions, where acquired agencies retain their local presence while using centralized support.
“We are honored to welcome Streeter Brothers Insurance to Inszone,” said Chris Walters, CEO of Inszone Insurance Services. “With more than 100 years of history in the Billings community, this agency represents the kind of legacy, professionalism, and client commitment we deeply value. Linda has built an outstanding organization, and we’re excited to support her team and clients with additional resources for the future.”
Inszone Insurance Services, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Sacramento, California, operates as a full-service brokerage offering property and casualty and employee benefits solutions.
