StartPoint Executive Risks has appointed an industry veteran to lead its newly created financial institutions underwriting practice.

Mark Selby joins the firm with over 20 years’ experience in financial institutions underwriting. He spent the last six years in a senior leadership position at Liberty Specialty Markets in London, as its financial institutions underwriting manager. In his new role, Selby has been tasked with writing a broad portfolio of both product and geographies. StartPoint expects that its expansion into the financial institutions arena will give it the ability to provide coverage solutions to a broadening client base.

Coverage of the London-based firm’s products is available to the international marketplace through capacity provided by certain London underwriters. It is backed by S&P “A+” Lloyd’s syndicates and the firm targets Fortune 1000 commercial companies all the way through to privately-held companies, as well as international mid-sized and smaller financial institutions.

StartPoint wrote its first policy in 2015, and has since established itself as a leading provider of management liability products, especially to US publicly traded companies. The firm is part of RSG Underwriting Managers, the managing general underwriting division of Ryan Specialty Group.
