The Hanover Insurance Group has appointed Sarah M. Medina as president of professional liability.

As president, Medina will work closely with the company’s specialty leadership team to enhance The Hanover’s portfolio of professional liability products, a release said. She will also be responsible for the company’s lawyers professional liability and architects and engineers books of business, as well as for building on The Hanover’s strategy for small specialty business – which includes enhancing the company’s Insurago platform.

Medina will report to The Hanover professional lines president Gregory W. Leffard.

She has more than 20 years of industry experience, having joined The Hanover in 2014. A company release has credited Medina and her team for delivering double-digit growth for accountants professional liability and miscellaneous professionals liability books of business in the last three years.

Prior to joining The Hanover, Medina served as assistant vice-president at The Hartford. She began her insurance career with Travelers.

“We are excited to promote Sarah to lead our professional liability business, where she has been instrumental in helping drive innovation and expanding our market presence,” said The Hanover Specialty president Bryan J. Salvatore. “This appointment is the latest in a series of investments and enhancements we have made to our specialty business over the last year.”

Salvatore remarked that the professional lines industry continues to grow, and that The Hanover is now “better positioned than ever” to aid agents in this line of business.
