The Hanover Group has appointed Richard W. Lavey as president of Hanover Agency Markets. In his new role, Lavey will lead the company’s personal and core commercial lines businesses and its field operations. Lavey succeeds John C. Roche, who was recently appointed president and CEO of The Hanover.

Lavey joined The Hanover in 2004, and has held several key business and marketing roles at the company, including president of personal lines, president of field operations, and president of the company’s Northeast region. Most recently, Lavey served as The Hanover’s executive vice president, chief marketing officer and chief growth innovation officer. He has more than 25 years of experience in the property and casualty sector.
