RSA Pro™ is already proving to be a game-changer for brokers who have implemented the digital tool into their daily activities.

Launched in late 2017, RSA Pro™ is an online tool for brokers to quote and bind SME business. It allows brokers to instantaneously bind three broad business segments: retail, contracting and business and professional services.

“Everything is moving toward digital and we wanted to bring something to market that made life easier for brokers in some key areas,” says Shantie Ramkishun, Director, Digital Business at RSA Canada. “So, when developing RSA Pro™, we focused on solving the challenges that brokers face around getting quotes in a timely manner. Brokers can access the tool via the web and get a quote in minutes with the client sitting in front of them. It’s a completely new experience for RSA brokers.”

With an influx of digital tools now in the marketplace, RSA Canada placed an emphasis on design and user experience when developing RSA Pro™. They partnered with brokers at all stages of development, taking sketches and mock-ups to brokerages and making modifications based on the feedback they received.

“We wanted to create something that was easy to use; something that the average broker would not need training to use,” Ramkishun says. “Creating a good user experience was at the forefront of what we wanted to do. Traditionally, we would build something and then send it out but we did things differently this time. We say that RSA Pro™ is ‘for brokers, by brokers’ because our broker partners really did help shape and build it.”

Brokers are definitely taking notice. The user base for RSA Pro™ has almost doubled since its initial launch and more brokers are signing up each month as word spreads about the time saving efficiencies that RSA Pro™ creates. In fact, some brokers are finding that the speed at which they obtain quotes via tool gives them a leg up on their competitors.

“With RSA Pro™, I’m able to choose a comprehensive, completely customizable package that’s right for my customers at a moment’s notice,” says Sandra DiLecce from Brokers Trust. “The tool has made the process of quoting customers smoother and has freed up more of my time to spend on other work. I’ve been in the insurance business for many years and while I was hesitant to use the product at first, I quickly learned to use it and adopt it, and it has now become integral to my day-to-day business activities.”

Feedback has been positive but RSA Canada is committed to continuously improving the tool. As with the initial development, the company is listening closely to what brokers are saying. RSA Canada has received suggestions on how RSA Pro™ can be improved to enable them to do more. Specifically, based on the broker feedback, RSA Canada is looking to provide brokers with more business they can quote themselves, more options around coverages, and improved flow and editing capabilities.

‘For brokers, by brokers’ may be a catchy tagline, but in this case it’s so much more. It also represents the philosophy around which RSA Pro™ was built – to make the small things easier so that brokers can focus on attracting and closing bigger accounts.
