The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) has issued a warning regarding an individual who is selling false RBC auto insurance.

Known as Kostyantyn Poshtarenko, both FSCO and RBC Insurance Company of Canada wish it to be known that the individual is not licensed to conduct insurance business in Ontario, and has no affiliation with the insurer.

Poshtarenko appears to be selling false RBC auto insurance in the Toronto area.

Brokers are urged to remind clients that they should exercise caution if they are contacted by anyone from the following coordinates:

Telephone: 647-829-9025
E-mail: [email protected]

Previous warnings from FSCO back in September included a man with several aliases who was selling auto insurance without a license.

Wangro Antoun – who also goes by the names Yasser Antoun, Yasser Antoun-Debbo, Yaseer Debbo and Mano Faroq – is not licensed by either FSCO or the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario to conduct business in the province.

“Police have charged this individual with fraud, false pretences, possession of property obtained by crime and uttered forged documents,” stated FSCO.

The man had been meeting with clients in coffee shops and retail malls, and was receiving cash for arranging false automobile insurance coverage.
