Allianz Partners has appointed two executives to its Board of Management, the company announced last week, filling key roles as it pursues further expansion in the travel sector.

Phil Hoffman was named chief officer, travel and board member, effective April 15, 2026, pending regulatory approval. Anna Kofoed, who previously held the travel chief role, was elevated to chief officer for global strategic partnerships.

According to a news release, Hoffman brings nearly two decades of experience within the Allianz Group, having served in senior roles including head of insurance Ibero-LatAm and director of financial consulting and investment risk principal at Allianz Life Insurance North America. Since 2019, he has served as CFO of Allianz Direct, where he helped establish its finance, risk, legal, and compliance functions and contributed to the launch of its pan-European direct insurance platform. In his new position, he will report directly to Tomas Kunzmann, CEO of Allianz Partners, and oversee the continued growth of the company’s travel division.

Kofoed, who joined Allianz Partners in 2023 from global travel technology company Amadeus, spent more than two decades at that firm in roles spanning marketing, sales, strategy, and business planning. During her time leading the travel business, she helped drive revenue growth with a focus on airlines and banks, while also overseeing new product launches and digital engagement efforts, the news release noted. In her new role, she succeeds Jean-Marc Pailhol, who has moved into a position focused on developing insurance and assistance offerings for high-net-worth individuals.

Kunzmann welcomed both appointments in the company’s statement.

“I am thrilled to welcome Phil to our Board of Management,” Kunzmann said. “His deep understanding of the Allianz ecosystem and proven ability to drive innovation and profitable growth will be instrumental in expanding our travel business. Phil’s entrepreneurial mindset and customer-centric approach align seamlessly with our vision to deliver best-in-class solutions for our partners and customers.”

Kunzmann also expressed confidence in Kofoed’s expanded remit.

“I am equally excited that Anna has taken over our Global Strategic Partnerships function,” he said. “Anna is an inspirational and visionary leader who has a remarkable ability to anticipate industry trends and translate them into impactful solutions for our clients.”

Allianz Partners operates in over 75 countries, employs 21,900 people, and handles more than 72.5 million cases each year.

The company has strengthened its position within the travel ecosystem through new collaborations and industry engagement. The company recently joined the World Travel & Tourism Council as an industry partner, contributing to research and policy discussions aimed at improving traveller confidence and resilience across the sector. It has also entered a UK agreement with Hood Group to broaden access to travel insurance through affinity channels such as retailers and financial institutions.
