The growth of paperless brokering continues, with another insurer joining the swelling ranks of others who have achieved certification from the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations.

The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) is pleased to announce that Wawanesa Insurance has achieved CSIO Certification for its eDocs solution.

“Wawanesa Insurance is excited to have received certification from CSIO for our eDocs program,” said Chris Luby, Wawanesa's vice president of marketing and business development, “which is currently in use in approximately 600 of our brokers’ offices across Canada. We expect more brokers to get on board as a result of this certification.”

Luby added that eDocs aligns with Wawanesa’s corporate goal to “enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of delivering products and services.”

Brokers registering for eDocs will no longer receive paper copies of policy declarations, assisting with controlling printing and mailing costs. The postage and production savings will be passed on to Wawanesa’s policyholders, corresponding with one of the core principles of a mutual company.

“We congratulate Wawanesa Insurance on obtaining CSIO Certification for eDocs,” said Catherine Smola, president & CEO of CSIO. “With certification, Wawanesa Insurance demonstrates its commitment to standardized solutions and efficient workflows for its broker partners, reducing costs and supporting exceptional customer service.”

CSIO certification is available to member insurance companies and vendors, and has stated that eDocs is the first business activity available for certification, with plans to expand the program to cover other activities.
