As of July 01, 2021, Sébastien Gabez will be exiting his role as CEO of APRIL Canada, to be replaced by Daphné de Vitton, the current director of marketing, innovation & digital.

In a Press release, the MGA noted that Gabez had realigned APRIL’s strategic position and enabled the MGA to strengthen its market position in Canada. He will now take on a new role within the APRIL group as CEO of APRIL Caribbean, based in Guadeloupe.

de Vitton, meanwhile, joined APRIL in October 2019. She headed up APRIL’s future-ready initiatives, including its focus on broker relationship and experience, as well as digital transformation. In June 2020, she oversaw the launch of APRIL ON, which has almost 3,000 brokers online.

“Thanks to a team of 120 employees, led by an engaged leadership team,” the company said, “APRIL is aiming to continue growing and bringing value to its broker partners. ‘Insurance made easy’ are words by which APRIL has and will continue to live by.”

APRIL Canada is looking to strengthen its position around two main pillars. The first revolves around a niche approach, where the MGA utilizes underwriting experience to bring value to the market by specializing in personal marine, commercial marine, non-standard personal property, constructions, hospitality, cyber, student housing and professionals, and more. The second pillar is to strengthen and stabilize market relationships, through developing data transparency.
