BMS Group has appointed Jason Stone to the role of managing director of BMS Canada private equity, M&A division.

Stone will lead the Canadian private equity and M&A team in his new role, helping expand BMS’s global private equity and M&A platform, a company release said. As part of his new role, he will also join the BMS Global PEMAT executive committee. Stone will report to BMS Canada president and CEO Brian Gomes, and will be based in Toronto.

Stone most recently served as senior vice-president of the M&A and transaction solution team at Aon. In that role, he specialized in placements of transaction liability products in the North American market, while gaining international experience from secondments in New York and Sydney. Before joining Aon, Stone was at Everest Reinsurance as a financial lines underwriter.

Pawar added that Stone has experience in advising and structuring insurance on M&A transactions across a range of industries, and that BMS looks forward to working closely with him.
