Entertainment Insurance Partners (EIP) has been acquired by New York-based Integro Insurance Brokers for an undisclosed sum.

EIP is the parent company of Robertson Taylor Insurance Brokers, the brokerage famous for finding protection for 14 of the top 20 grossing worldwide entertainment tours in 2014.

It was Robertson Taylor’s policy that covered the late Michael Jackson’s This Is It residency show at the O2 Arena in London. More recently, the insurer helped the Foo Fighters with the cost of calling off their European tour after Dave Grohl’s untimely leg injury.

Other notable celebrity clients that Robertson Taylor had covered for include Queen, Cliff Richard, and Pink Floyd.

As a result of the acquisition, EIP’s management team, led by chief executive John Silcock, will migrate with the company to its new owners.

Silcock shared his support for the acquisition, noting the combined expertise of handling entertainment and sports business the companies have.

“Together, EIP and Integro will become a combined force with unrivalled expertise, client and carrier relationships,” he said.

EIP is owned and managed by Rivertrade, an investment company owned by former Man Group director John Kinder that has been acquiring entertainment insurers since 2000. In 2011, Rivertrade added Robertson Taylor Insurance Brokers into EIP’s fold.
