In business since 1999, CFC Underwriting is an international specialist insurance provider based in London, UK, with locations in Australia, Belgium, the US, and Canada. Considered one of the largest independent managing general agents in the world, the company serves more than 100,000 businesses across over 90 countries, providing commercial insurance products.

It comes as no surprise that CFC Underwriting has been named by Insurance Business Canada as one of this year’s 5-Star MGAs. To be recognized as a 5-Star MGA, it is not enough to meet the demands of the brokers – MGAs need to have the responsiveness to quickly adapt, flexible pricing, the capability to place the most niche of risks, and a wide product range, among many other criteria. CFC Underwriting meets all of those criteria and more, scoring highly for its pricing, technical expertise and product knowledge, reputation, and technology/automation factors.

CFC Underwriting has also been previously recognized by IBC as a 5-Star Construction 2022 winner.

But while the company serves a wide range of industries, CFC Underwriting’s true specialty lies in cyber. The company has the largest cyber underwriting team and dedicated in-house cyber claims and incident response team in the London market. By 2021, the MGA’s cyber business grew to cater to over 60,000 policyholders in over 60 countries.

“CFC offers a market-leading cyber insurance product backed by a global response capability, which ensures our policyholders not only have comprehensive cover, but that they can recover quickly from cyber incidents,” said CFC Underwriting head of cyber James Burns.

Lately, CFC Underwriting has seen an increased demand for active assailant insurance cover from organizations in Canada.

“The US market currently makes up over 95% of CFC’s account but we’re increasingly seeing Canadian submissions as insureds understand it’s not just gun-related violence that this product caters for,” explained CFC terrorism and political violence underwriter Rob Tuttlebee.

Whether it is about cybersecurity, construction, or active assailants, CFC Underwriting is more than ready to provide the right insurance solution for the job.
