Hub International has announced a series of leadership appointments effective January 1, 2027, with two direct implications for its Canadian operations.
Carol Mills (pictured, left), currently president and CEO of HUB Coastal, has been named HUB's enterprise-wide chief sales officer, a newly expanded role she'll hold while continuing to lead HUB Coastal in Canada. Tim Geddes (pictured, right), HUB Coastal's chief sales officer since May 2006, will step into Mills' vacated role as HUB Coastal president.
"These appointments reflect the next chapter in how HUB operates and grows," said Marc Cohen, HUB's president and CEO. "HUB is the gold standard middle market broker, and that standing was built through deliberate choices, nurturing our talent, honoring our culture and leading with people who are, at their core, brokers."
As chief sales officer, Mills will drive HUB's national sales strategy and oversee its Sales Enablement and Sales Training teams, reporting to newly elevated Executive Vice President Andrew Forchelli.
Mills joined HUB in 2008 and rose through employee benefits and sales leadership roles before taking the top job at HUB Coastal.
Her most notable contribution there, according to HUB's own release, was pioneering the cross-sell officer role, a model the company says has since been institutionalized across the entire firm.
That detail is worth underlining: Mills isn't being promoted on general performance alone, she's being handed a national mandate specifically because an operational innovation she built in Canada already proved valuable enough to be adopted elsewhere in HUB's business. That gives her elevation a more concrete rationale than a typical executive reshuffle.
Geddes takes over HUB Coastal with more than two decades of tenure at the company behind him, having joined in 2002 and worked through account executive, vice president and chief sales officer roles before this appointment.
As CSO, HUB's release credits him with consistently expanding HUB Coastal's sales organization and driving sustained revenue performance, giving him direct, recent operational ownership of the same growth trajectory he's now taking full responsibility for.
That continuity matters given HUB Coastal's own recent capability expansion: this desk covered HUB's appointment of Sarah Thompson as national real estate practice leader for Canada earlier this month, a role built specifically on her background leading HUB Coastal's Strata Division through British Columbia's multi-year condo insurance affordability crisis.
Geddes now leads the regional business responsible for supporting that kind of specialty growth day to day, reporting directly to Mills in her new national sales role rather than to a different reporting line, keeping Canada-US coordination between the two closely aligned.
It's worth noting that Geddes reports to Mills, not to Forchelli or another US-based executive, meaning HUB Coastal's president continues answering to a leader with deep, direct Canadian market experience even as she takes on an enterprise-wide role.
For brokers and clients working with HUB Coastal, that structure suggests Canadian priorities and strategy remain closely tied to leadership that understands the market specifically, rather than being absorbed into a purely US-centric national sales function.
