An executive of Trisura Guarantee Insurance Company, along with twelve other employees of the company, have agreed to join a charity event that involves pitting participants in challenges similar to the ones found in the reality TV gameshow, “Survivor.”

In an email, Trisura vice president of Strategic Initiatives Sandra Henkel revealed that she and her twelve other colleagues are participating in the unique fundraising event, dubbed “Exile Island,” hosted by Children’s Wish.

Henkel’s team is committed to raising $10,000 for a boy named Gavin. Gavin was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had to undergo months of treatment; it was during these hard times that he dreamed of a trip to China with his family. Henkel hopes that through the event, she and her team may be able to grant little Gavin’s wish.

While Henkel’s team is aiming for a $10,000 fundraising goal through the Exile Island event, Trisura will also be granting four other wishes through the Children’s Wish charity, for a total of $40,000 in additional charity funding. The insurer intends to collect this $40,000 through various fundraising activities.

Henkel also invited others to donate to Children’s Wish to help children like Gavin.
