Two more insurance companies have announced their support of — as well as renewed their full partnership status with — the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada’s (ACAC) Broker Promotion Campaign (BIP).

Both Intact Insurance and The Guarantee (La Garantie) have recently issued statements detailing their full support of the broker channel.

"Insurance must first be interested in people and is a sector of activity based on trust and expertise. Brokers play an important role because of the relationships they build with clients. They simplify insurance for them and offer them professional advice tailored to their needs,” said Intact Insurance President Jean-François Blais in a statement. “We are committed to supporting them and empowering them to continue to offer cost-effective solutions to clients.”

"Like insurance brokers, Intact is committed to providing excellent customer service and seeking to actively participate in the life of the communities in which it operates," ACAC CEO Peter Braid said.

"The Guarantee celebrates its 145th year of commitment and dedication to the brokerage network. Our winning strategy is to work closely and effectively with brokers in specialized categories,” The Guarantee national vice-president of Operations and Distribution Richard Pouliot said in a separate statement. “This is our seventh year as a partner in the Broker Promotion Campaign, and we are very proud to be a full partner in ACAC.

"In the current market, insurance brokers provide consumers with the best possible coverage, expert advice and real added value.”By investing in this program, La Garantie once again demonstrates that they remain a valuable partner for brokers," Braid said.

The Broker Promotion Campaign, launched in 1988, was created to “highlight the value and professionalism of the insurance broker to consumers, insurers and governments,” a release said. The position program targets over 36,000 brokers.
