Intact Insurance has entered a multi-year national partnership with the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and Team Canada. The collaboration aims to support Canadian athletes.

As part of the agreement, Intact has become the official sponsor of William Dandjinou (pictured), a member of the Canadian short track speed skating national team since 2019. The Montreal-born athlete won three gold medals at the 2025 Speed Skating World Championships in Beijing and holds the International Skating Union Crystal Globe as the season’s top overall skater.

The sponsorship will provide financial backing as he prepares for the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Winter Games, according to the company.

Imen Zitouni, senior vice-president and chief marketing officer at Intact Financial Corporation, said the partnership builds on Intact's long history of investing in sports initiatives that strengthen local communities. Zitouni noted that supporting Dandjinou and the COC reflects the company's commitment to Canadian athletes who consistently strive for excellence.

Jacqueline Ryan, chief brand and commercial officer of the COC and CEO of the Canadian Olympic Foundation, said Intact's involvement will help expand programs that support athletes and sports development leading up to Milano Cortina 2026 and Los Angeles 2028.

William Dandjinou said the partnership with Intact allows him to focus on training and competition while helping to encourage more Canadians to participate in sports.

Beyond elite competition, Intact and the COC are developing a joint program to promote and protect grassroots sports across the country. The initiative forms part of Team Canada 2035, the COC’s long-term strategic plan to strengthen sport through three focus areas: podium, play, and planet. Details of the program will be announced at a later date.

Intact’s involvement in Canadian sport spans nearly two decades, including partnerships with Speed Skating Canada and naming rights to the Centre de glaces Intact Assurance in Quebec City. The company is also a founding partner of the Northern Super League and the Professional Women’s Hockey League.

The partnership between Intact and the COC covers both the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Games and the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Games. A national campaign with CBC/Radio-Canada will accompany the initiative, highlighting stories of Canadian athletes and communities.
