Jim Murphy is leaving his post as CEO of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario’s Executive Committee, the IBAO announced today. The change is effective immediately. The association is actively seeking a replacement.

“This is an important time for IBAO”, stated Michael Brattman, IBAO Chair. “The broker channel faces several exciting developments including innovation, product reform and finding new ways to attract and serve our clients.  IBAO is aggressively pursuing future opportunities for our members and is committed to finding a new CEO who will offer leadership and vision for our association. Our members’ needs are our number one priority.”

With Mr. Murphy’s departure, IBAO’s Executive and Board have implemented an interim plan and can confirm that the association’s operations are being well managed.

Murphy previously held the position of CEO at CAAMP, Canada’s largest mortgage association, for eight years. He left the role to join IBAO on July 31. Insurance Business Canada’s sister publication Mortgage Broker News broke the story of his departure and subsequent move. No reason has yet to be given for his departure from the IBAO.
