Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced that it has promoted Nicholas Garside (pictured) to the role of head of Bermuda property. Garside will assume the role on September 01 and will report to Steve Horton, president of Liberty Specialty Markets Bermuda.

“Nick is an exceptionally capable executive who has amassed considerable experience in both the Bermudian and international property markets,” Horton said. “His skills and in-depth knowledge will be of tremendous value.”

Garside joined Ironshore Bermuda as senior vice president of property in 2018, prior to the company’s rebrand as Liberty Specialty Markets. He has 15 years of industry experience, and previously served as deputy head of direct and facultative property for Novae Bermuda. Garside has also brokered property risks for Willis in London, Sydney and Bermuda.
