McDougall Insurance and Financial has merged with Worden Insurance & Financial Services in Oshawa.

The merger was formally announced January 01, 2018, and is effective immediately.

Worden Insurance’s 13 employees join McDougall to form “an independent broker with 33 offices in Eastern Ontario, the Ottawa Valley, and Central Ontario,” with 350 employees and over $275 million in property casualty premium, a release said.

All Worden Insurance employees will remain with the organization, with the exception of owner Donna Crawford, who has chosen to retire. According to a release, Worden’s branch office location will continue, and all other members of the management team will continue with the organization following the merger.

In a statement, McDougall CEO Ross L. McDougall revealed that, sometime in the future, the company will merge its Oshawa operations with Worden under one location. This combined entity will be led by current Oshawa manager and partner in McDougall Insurance Christian Hutchison.
