One of Navacord’s broker partners – Waypoint Insurance – has acquired GNK Insurance Services.

GNK has been in business for more than 85 years, providing personalized service and insurance solutions for businesses and families in BC and Alberta.

Waypoint’s acquisition of GNK supports the former’s growth strategy of expanding its operations through both profitable organic growth and M&A with “like-minded brokers,” a release said.

“We were drawn to Waypoint Insurance in part because of the alignment of our culture and values – we put our clients and community first,” said GNK Insurance Services president Sal Audia, who added that the deal provides GNK with access to Waypoint’s technology, markets, and infrastructure, which could help drive the professional growth of GNK’s business and employees.

“The GNK team complements Waypoint’s existing practice with their strong community roots and long-standing client relationships,” said Waypoint Insurance CEO Tony Hayes. “We’re excited about the synergies that exist and strengthening our presence in the lower mainland.”

This is Waypoint’s second acquisition so far in 2021.

Earlier this year, the broker acquired Lynn Valley Insurance. Founded in 1984, Lynn Valley Insurance provides home and auto insurance to North Vancouver residents, and maintains a commercial book of business.
