New app to aid in global emergencies

A leader in medical assistance services has released a mobile app that will help ease insurance processes when traveling.

Active Care Management (ACM), an Ontario-based global provider of emergency assistance services, medical case management and claims processing has announced the launch of a new mobile app TravelAid.

The free app features GPS capabilities to allow tourists to receive immediate medical assistance, no matter their location.

It includes such features as:
  • Direct connection with ACM representatives for immediate response to urgent matters
  • Information on available healthcare providers
  • Directions to the nearest hospital or medical facility
  • International 911 resources
  • Official travel alerts and advisories
  • Travel suggestions for Canadians, as well as incoming visitors
  • Claims submission support for tourists from different provinces and countries
ACM designed the app to provide tools and resources in one easy step, so tourists do not face any obstacles when they need to access information quickly in the case of an emergency.

“Travelling with peace of mind has never been easier,” said ACM executive vice president David Rivelis. “Should something happen, TravelAid can tell you – in a matter of seconds – who to contact, where to go, how to get there, and when to begin the claims process. We’ve streamlined it, so all you have to worry about is the travel part. We take care of the rest.”

The app is available on the Apple Store and Google Play platforms.
