An encouraging sign for brokers that the economy has shaken off the recession is the record number of industry players registered for one of the largest technology conferences in North America.

TENCon 2013 kicked off in Las Vegas this week with more than 2,200 registered attendees – the largest in the conference’s 27-year history.

“Hosting the largest user event in the history of TENCon in our 30th anniversary year serves as a moment of pride for all of us at Applied Systems,” said Reid French, CEO of Applied Systems. “It also serves as recognition of the growth in our user base and company as we deliver more innovative products to the marketplace that enable our customers to be more successful.”

TENCon is hosted each year by Applied Systems Client Network (ASCnet) and Applied Systems. The 2013 conference theme, “Powering the Future,” focuses on the impact of technology in the changing insurance marketplace. TENCon 2013 features more than 200 educational sessions, including expanded content for insurance agency and brokerage executives, and more than 70 exhibitors.

Delivering the conference’s featured keynote address was Geoffrey Moore, best-selling technology author and renowned thought leader on business innovation. His presentation provided insight on how technology is driving change across industries and ways insurance businesses can harness innovation to increase growth and profitability to deliver greater value as trusted advisers to their insured customers.

ASCnet Chair, Leslie Lacroix, and Applied Systems Chief Executive Officer, Reid French, opened the general session with keynote speeches on the future of technology in the insurance industry and changing insurance customer expectations.

“We are pleased to once again present an outstanding conference with the industry’s best education and networking opportunities for insurance agents and brokers to build stronger professional capabilities," said Leslie Lacroix, chair, ASCnet. "TENCon is a sought after experience, and we have worked closely with Applied Systems on a TENCon program that delivers knowledge and value to independent agents and brokers and the industry.”
