The diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) movement in the Canadian insurance industry is gaining more positive momentum every year. Now, Insurance Business Canada is proud to celebrate the DE&I front-runners who are setting the bar for insurance organizations countrywide in the IBC Five-Star Diversity, Equity and Inclusion 2022 report, available to view for free here.
To determine who has the most effective DE&I programs, IBC invited insurance companies across Canada to share the initiatives they have focused on over the past 12 months. Over a 15-week period, the IBC team then conducted one-on-one interviews with DE&I professionals to gain a keen understanding of the industry standard and which companies have met or exceeded expectations. The team then reached out to employees at the nominated firms to gauge the effectiveness of their DE&I programs.
Companies that scored 4.5 and above on a scale of 1 to 5 were granted Five-Star awards in recognition of their DE&I programs. Among the eight companies to receive the award this year are Zurich Canada and Liberty Mutual Canada.
