Storm Insurance Group has launched its own fundraising campaign.

The “Give Back” fundraising program is Storm Insurance’s way to support local Canadian food banks amid the COVID-19 outbreak, especially at a time when donations to the food banks have declined and volunteers have been spread thin due to social distancing measures.

Through the campaign, Storm Insurance is committed to matching donations made to local food banks in the areas it services. The insurance group is committing up to $40,000 in donations. In addition, CEO Jamie Reid will personally donate another $40,000 to support this initiative.

“We have been incredibly fortunate over the past 40 years to build a successful business across the many communities we serve,” said Reid. “Personally, and on behalf of our employees, I want to thank these communities, individuals and businesses for their continuous support. These donations are a small way of giving back in these challenging times.”

Earlier this year, Agile Underwriting Solutions – a managing general agent and Storm Insurance Group member – opened a new office in BC and named Mashood Ali to serve as vice-president of its operations in western Canada.
