Top broker can't imagine a career outside insurance

Teresa Connolly (pictured), an Insurance Business Canada top broker from award-winning Keyes Insurance Brokerage, can’t imagine a career outside the industry.

The Bridgewater native is one of 35 dedicated professionals who made the cut and were recognized recently for their excellence in the crucial role of an insurance broker. Her employer, Keyes Insurance, is a 5-Star Brokerage. The business has been trading since 1926.

Insurance Business recently caught up with Connolly, whose career in insurance began in 2002.

How did you get into insurance?

I was placed at Intact through a temporary agency when they purchased Zurich, which turned into a full-time position a few months later.

What do you consider the best part of your role?

Helping clients whether it’s making sure customers are getting the best coverages and the best rate or assisting clients with understanding their policy and coverages.

What do you think will be your biggest challenge this year?

Dealing with coverage and company limitations on property insurance and increased prices.

If you weren’t in insurance, where do you think you would be?

I really don’t know.
