Unica Insurance has named Yves Gagnon, BA, CIP (pictured) to the role of chief operating officer. Gagnon, who currently serves as chief operating officer for L’Unique General Insurance, will also hold the same responsibilities at Unica Insurance.
Gagnon has been a part of L’Unique General Insurance since 2000 where he held senior leadership positions in operations, sales, and business development. He is a graduate of Université Laval with a Bachelor of Science in economics degree.
“Yves is a strong advocate and supporter of the broker channel. With his extensive experience and close working relationship with the Unica and L’Unique teams, he is absolutely the right person to continue growing our brokerage operations in Canada,” said Beneva Insurance executive vice-president of property & casualty insurance Christian Fournier.
“Unica and L’Unique have established a strong brand presence and reputation for excellence in their respective markets,” commented Gagnon. “I am very excited for this opportunity to help lead these two organizations into the future.”
Both Unica Insurance and L’Unique General Insurance are subsidiaries of La Capitale Insurance. Beneva is the insurance brand formed from the coming together of La Capitale and SSQ Insurance, which became the largest mutual insurance company in Canada.
