While Hurricane Isaias has left the US, it has entered Canada as a post-tropical storm no less powerful, managing to knock out the power of tens of thousands of Quebecers.

Hydro-Québec confirmed that as of Wednesday morning, approximately 46,000 customers were without power due to the storm – most of them located in Quebec City.

According to the Canadian Hurricane Centre, Isaias is expected to travel eastward to New Brunswick.

CBC News reported that although the precipitation in Quebec will dissipate as the storm passes, a rainfall warning is still in effect for Chibougamau. The town is expected to see up to 25mm of rain.

The arrival and passage of Isaias in Quebec comes just a week after two tornado systems touched down in the region. One of the tornados was strong enough to not only uproot trees, but also damage several houses in the municipality of Saint-Mathias de Bonneterre.
