Canadian managing general agent CHES Special Risk – together with its Quebec-based sister company CHES Solution Spécialisées – has announced its decision to become a Gold Sponsor of StolenEquipment.ca.

StolenEquipment.ca is a national database for preventing the theft of mobile equipment in Canada; the first database of its kind. The portal can be used by brokers, insurers, loss adjusters, and other entities in the industry, using the centralized database as a resource for accurate industry data. Not only does the information help those in the insurance industry better offer their insurance products, but StolenEquipment.ca also helps to prevent fraud and theft.

"We are delighted to partner with StolenEquipment.ca. We are always on the lookout for new ways and initiatives to assist our broker partners in winning more business. And StolenEquipment.ca is one such venture that CHES believes will add value to the industry,” said CHES Special Risk president and CEO Gary Hirst.

Hirst added that thanks to StolenEquipment.ca, the CHES team will now be able to deliver competitive construction insurance quotes “at the most reasonable prices.”

“Construction businesses can use this platform to reduce the likelihood of their construction equipment being stolen while also increasing item recovery. In the insurance industry, it means – lowering the risk of theft, lowering loss ratios, and lowering premium rates,” the CEO explained.
