Property and casualty broker NFP has appointed Deanna Brewer as senior vice president and account manager for surety in Canada.

Brewer’s role will primarily involve delivering specialized surety advice and services to NFP’s client base in the construction sector, with surety leader John Stewart serving as her direct supervisor.

With over two and a half decades of experience in the surety space, Brewer joins NFP following a notable tenure at a global brokerage. In her previous role, she was instrumental in assessing client risk profiles, facilitating their capital requirement fulfilment, and optimizing capital cost, among others.

Stewart commented: “Deanna is an excellent addition to NFP and brings a high level of surety expertise, plus an outstanding commitment to collaboration and clients. We’re excited about the progress we’ve made in expanding our construction surety offerings.

“Deanna’s technical knowledge and leadership will advance our ability to manage complex contract surety facilities, strengthen NFP’s position as a premier surety brokerage, and provide significant value to our construction clients.”

Brewer’s arrival strengthens NFP’s commercial surety risk practice within the broker’s construction and infrastructure group, which operates across the United States and Canada. This group is co-led by David Bowcott, Adrian Pellen, and John Hyland and is renowned for its collaborative and expert-driven approach to comprehensive risk advisory services in North America.

Expressing her enthusiasm about the role, Brewer said: “I’m excited to join NFP and work with this experienced and knowledgeable team. Specialized expertise is a game-changer for clients, especially in the construction space. I’m looking forward to providing best-in-class guidance and service while also helping to grow our surety business in Canada.”
